CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati men's golf team earned President's Special Recognition accolades from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) as one of 49 Division I teams in the nation to achieve a 3.5 grade point average or better during the 2017-18 academic year.

The Bearcats were one of only two American Athletic Conference schools on the list along with league rival Memphis. UC and Youngstown State were the only two Ohio schools recognized.

For the spring semester, the UC men's golf team posted a program-best 3.74 GPA with all 10 players achieving Bearcats Academic Honor Roll status (3.0 GPA or better). Eight players earned Dean List distinction (3.4 or better GPA) while senior Scot Sapp recorded a 4.0 GPA. It marked the fourth consecutive semester the men's golf team has achieved a program-best GPA.

In fact, all 10 Bearcats were named to the AAC's All-Academic Team in June, honoring student-athletes who achieved a 3.0 GPA or better during both the fall and spring semesters in 2017-18.
