The American Baseball Coaches Association announced its Team Academic Excellence Award with the University of Cincinnati receiving honors.
The award recognizes high school and college programs that post a 3.0 or higher grade point average for the academic year. The Bearcats posted a 3.20 fall GPA and followed that with a 3.26 GPA in the spring. Earlier this year, 23 members of the UC baseball team earned American Athletic Conference All-Academic recognition.
On the field, the Bearcats finished an even 28-28, the best final record since the 2011 season. The 2019 squad reports to campus later this month and will begin the fall offseason in preparation of the 2019 campaign set to begin on Friday, February 15.
