TicketsCINCINNATI – Seventeen members of the University of Cincinnati lacrosse team were selected to the 2017-18 BIG EAST Conference All-Academic Team, the league office announced this week. Included on the list a trio of Bearcats seniors that each collected their fourth career academic accolade from the BIG EAST, including Bridget Cleary, Lauren Hudson and Schuyler Nissen.
The recent UC graduates were honored all four years they played for the Bearcats, earning accolades in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. They are not the only multiple-time honorees recognized this year, however. Both Julia Byrne and Amanda Donovan were recognized for third times in their respective careers while five Bearcats each earned their second honor in as many years, including Alexandra Fess, Amanda Fess, Madison Foery, Taylor Kozloski and Jayde Sains. First-time honorees included Kate Carney, Adrianna Fess, Taylor Gysin, Lily Lance, Kate McLoughlin, Sam Mlkvy and Gianna Napoletano.
This year, over 2,400 student-athletes from across 22 sports sponsored by the BIG EAST, were honored for their academic achievements. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must participate in the BIG EAST-sponsored sport, attain a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year and complete a minimum of two-consecutive semesters (or three-consecutive quarters) of academic work with a total of 18 semester (or 27 quarter) credit hours.
