CINCINNATI - Dee Picou scored her first collegiate goal in the 79' and Sophie Gorman notched the winning score in overtime as the University of Cincinnati women's soccer team battled back from a 1-0 deficit to claim a 2-1 win over visiting Lipscomb Thursday night at Gettler Stadium. The victory, UC's second in overtime this season, helped the Bearcats move to 4-3-1 on the year and 4-0-1 at home while the Lady Bisons fell to 4-3-2 overall in 2018.

In the 19', the guests got on the board first with Olivia Doak scoring her team-leading fourth of the season. The ball was played wide with Dominique Diller carrying the ball forward. She then sent a bending pass into the box where Doak was able to rise above the defense and head the ball into the net. The goal marked the second time this year the Bearcats had fallen behind, 1-0, at home before coming back to win, 2-1, with the first coming opening night in the come-from-behind victory over visiting Eastern Kentucky.

After head coach Neil Stafford made wholesale changes to the second half starting line-up, a listing that included six true freshmen and Less taking control in goal, the Bearcats began to press more and find better chances offensively. As the momentum built and fresh legs entered the match, UC continued to press ahead and it paid off in the 79' with Picou netting her first career goal. The play started with a UC corner kick from the left of the goal and Vetere sending the ball into the box where Kiki Lowell tried to head it home, but was unable to connect. The ball then bounced around a few times before Picou gathered the ball, turned and fired into the net to draw the hosts level with just under 12 minutes to play in regulation.

In overtime, the Bearcats found a way to grab the winner again. The play started with DiNardo collecting a loose ball and moving toward the defense at the corner of the penalty area. As the defense closed in, she back-heeled the ball to Vetere, who moved in and slipped a pass across the face of goal where Gorman was charging. The ball got past the Lady Bisons and came to Gorman, who hit the pass into the cross bar and saw it deflect down past the goal line to give the hosts another victory.
