For the third consecutive week the American Athletic Conference named the University of Cincinnati's Jordan Thompson its Offensive Player of the Week for her performance over the weekend.
Thompson averaged an incredible 7.45 kills and 8.45 point per set in three matches of the Queen City Classic. She also racked up 16 digs, nine blocks and six aces. The redshirt-junior totaled 15 kills despite playing just two sets in the opening match on Friday against Eastern Kentucky, a 3-0 UC victory. Friday night, Thompson set a new career-high in kills with 35 in a five-set match with Indiana. On Saturday in a 3-1 win over rival Xavier, Thompson bested her own AAC four-set record with 32 kills. She hit better than .300 all weekend, averaging out to a .394 hitting percentage in 11 sets. Thompson entered the weekend as the nation's leader in kills, points, kills per set and points per set. She went into the tournament averaging 5.90 kills/set and that number has now grown to 6.24.
The three-time AAC Preseason Player of the Year has earned all-tournament honors every weekend this season and was the MVP of the Colorado State Tournament in week two when she was also named the VolleyMob National Player of the Week.

UC has a midweek match at Western Kentucky on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. AAC play begins next weekend with the Bearcats making the trip to ECU for a 7 p.m. Friday night match.
