TicketsCINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati tennis team traveled to Bloomington, Indiana to compete in the Hoosier Classic. Facing off against competition from around the Midwest, the Bearcats found solid results once again. Among the highlights, six different players posted 2-1 records in singles action and the team of Emma Miceli and Caroline Morton posted a 3-1 record in doubles action.

The Bearcats came out swinging as Alexia Coutino, Ioana Guna, Caroline Morton, Anna Philp, Maria Teixido Garcia and Maria Santilli all posted 2-1 records for the weekend. Overall, the team won 14 of their total 26 matches. Morton and Antonella Bramato both faced marathon matches as every match they played in went to three sets.

The weekend was highlighted by the team of Emma Miceli and Caroline Morton posting a 3-1 record for the weekend. The groups of Bramato/Coutino, Guna/Philp and Amanda Huser/Santilli all posted 2-2 records. The team won 11 of their total 19 matches during the weekend.

"Overall a pretty good weekend for the team. A lot of tennis for everyone and so many competitive opportunities. I would have liked to have seen us finish a couple more of matches on the winning note on Sunday, but overall the effort was there. We just need to get back to the practice court on Tuesday and begin to work on what is needed to be ready for our Regional event in Chattanooga."
