The Bearcats got on the board first with a nifty bit of passing. Gorman carried the ball down the right flank and, as she neared the corner, sent a pass across the box toward the back post where Vetere was waiting. Vetere took a swing at the pass, but it squirted toward the front of the goal where DiNardo ran on and hit home for her first career goal. DiNardo is now the eighth UC player to record at least one goal and one assist this year while Vetere upped her team-high assist total to four. Gorman tallied her second helper of the season to move into second on the team in points with six.
// CIN 1:1 TEMPLE • 54'
After a first half that saw UC build a 9-1 advantage in shots, the guests found some life and drew level in the 54'. On the play, Gabriela Johnson collected the ball near the top of the box and turned toward the goal. She moved toward the right frame and fired back across the goal and into the side netting to tie the match. It was her fifth goal of the season.
// CIN 1:2 TEMPLE • 63'
Under 10 minutes later, the Owls struck again to take a 2-1 lead. Natalie Druehl got things going as she took control of the ball and moved toward the box. At the top of the 18, she slipped a pass through to Emma Wilkins, who hit her shot back across goal and into the net for her sixth of the year.
// CIN 2:2 TEMPLE • 75'
Just as UC has done in recent years, the Bearcats battled hard and were rewarded with an equalizer in the 75'. On the play, the ball got sent deep into the left corner where Hartman chased it down and gained possession. She then crossed the ball in low toward the front post where Vetere was rushing on. Vetere tipped the ball on frame and saw it trickle over the line before the Owls could clear, tying the match at two and giving the senior her team-leading sixth of the year. All told, Vetere now has six goals and four assists for 16 points.
