// BEARCATS REWIND
Against a competitive fall schedule the Bearcats have held their own with a common theme of improving their team standing each round in every tournament to date. Cincinnati most recently finished seventh in Middle Tennessee's Intercollegiate at the Grove on Oct. 9 after taking fifth at Duke's Rod Myers Invitational (Sept. 9) and tying for seventh at the Louisville Cardinal Challenge (Sept. 16). UC's Bearcat Invitational, scheduled for Sept. 24-25 at Coldstream Country Club, was canceled due to continuous heavy rain.

Individually, senior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle HS) leads the Bearcats with a 70.56 stroke average and a trio of Top 13 finishes, including at Duke where he tied for third at 5-under 211.

Fellow senior Paul Huber (Edgewood, Ky.,/Covington Catholic HS) is coming off the best finish of his career, tying for 15th at even par 216 at the Intercollegiate at the Grove.

Freshman Mason Lenhart (Prospect, Ky./North Oldham HS) owns a pair of Top 30 finishes, including a tie for 23rd place with a 2-over 218 at Duke.

Like Lenhart fellow freshman Sam Jean (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove HS ) has played in all three tournaments this fall. His best finish to date also came at Duke, where he tied for 17th place at even par 216.

Sophomore Nicolas Osterburg (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian HS) has participated in all three events as well, including the Louisville tournament where he led the Bearcats, tying for 10th place at 4-under 209.

// QUOTING HEAD COACH DOUG MARTIN
On the team's mindset heading into the event:
"It's a great opportunity to finish off a really strong fall season for us. Our goal remains the same and that's to get better each day, get better each week and get better each month. Any time you have a coachable team like this one it's hard not to improve."

"I'm excited for the quick turnaround because of the positives for us coming out of the Middle Tennessee tournament. Our first-round start wasn't what we were looking for but we hung in there and kept fighting through adversity. That's something we've lacked as a team in the past. We also finished on a strong note by posting the fifth best team score of the final round. Those positives and the fact that our seniors are doing what seniors are supposed to do really have me optimistic."
