CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's soccer team fell to visiting UConn, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at Gettler Stadium ahead of the Bearcats' Senior Day ceremonies honoring four of its own. The loss, just the second of the year at home, dropped the Bearcats to 6-8-3 overall and 1-5-3 in the American Athletic Conference while the Huskies moved to 3-11-0 overall and 1-4-0 in the league.

The visitors got on the board early in the match as Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky found the back of the net for what would be the first of her three goals. On the play, Danyko-Kulchycky moved in on goal and chipped a shot over a sliding Eustaquio, only to see the shot cleared from the line by Kiki Lowell. The ball, however, came back to Danyko-Kulchycky, who fired her second shot into the left side netting.

Danyko-Kulchycky scored her second goal in the 22' as Pato Jerzak played the ball into the center of the box with Danyko-Kulchycky hitting a volley out of the air and into the net to double the advantage for UConn.

Danyko-Kulchycky completed her hat trick in the 54' as she once again was denied on a shot, this time by Piscioneri, only to see UConn's leading scorer gather the rebound and hit the back of the net to make it 3-0.

The final goal of the match came three minutes later as UConn was countering. On the play, Danyko-Kulchycky played in Jerzak, who finished the ball into the lower left corner to make it 4-0.

The loss was the first on 'Sunday Fun Day' for the Bearcats as their 27-match home Sunday undefeated streak came to a halt. Prior to today's set back, the Bearcats had gone 23-0-4 in home Sunday matches since Stafford took over the program at the start of 2013.

Following the match, the Bearcats recognized their four seniors and all their contributions to the program. The Class of 2018 included three members of the 2015 AAC Championship team in Huber, Piscioneri and Wheldon, along with Vetere, who played the past two seasons in her hometown after transferring in from Louisville.
