FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In its final road nonconference game of the season, University of Cincinnati men's soccer will visit Purdue Fort Wayne for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Heffner Soccer Complex.

UC (3-9-1, 1-3-0 AAC) was edged, 1-0, by the visiting Tulsa Hurricane on Saturday night at Gettler Stadium. The Bearcats nearly pushed the match to overtime in the final 10 seconds of regulation when Mason Volker (St. Leon, Ind./East Central) played the ball forward to Darryn Commissiong (Pickering, Ontario/St. Mary Catholic) who, in a 1v1 situation against the Hurricane goalkeeper, had his shot deflected back over the net to close the match.

Purdue Fort Wayne (7-6-1, 1-2-0 Summit) picked up its first win since Sept. 25 on Saturday when it defeated Oral Roberts, 3-1, in Fort Wayne. Matthew Lieshout, Blake Cearns, and Chris Baranowski each scored a goal in the game. Goalkeeper Tor Erik Larsen totaled three saves on the night. For the season, Lieshout has scored a team-best 10 goals. Romain Lopez has pitched in nine assists and four goals. In addition, Cearns boasts six goals, while Baranowski has three goals and three helpers. On the defensive end, Larsen has saved 75 shots with two shutouts. In the preseason, the 'Dons were picked to finish last in the six-team Summit League.

The Bearcats are a perfect 4-0 against the 'Dons all-time. In the last meeting a year ago, UC blanked Purdue Fort Wayne, 4-0, in Cincinnati. Ryan Melink (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland), Commissiong, Austin Smythe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day/Radford), and Sean Clarke (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) each scored in the match, while goalkeeper Noah Lawrence (Mitchellville, Md./Sacred Heart) totaled four saves. In the last matchup in Fort Wayne in 2016, the Red & Black blanked the home team, 3-0. The Bearcats have only surrendered one goal to the Mastodons during the all-time series.
