CINCINNATI – Jarron Cumberland's game-high 25 points and 11 assists coupled with teammate Trevon Scott's 21 points and 10 rebounds helped lead the Black squad over the Red team 85-84 Thursday in the annual University of Cincinnati men's basketball Red-Black scrimmage at Princeton High School.
Cane Broome led the Red team with 23 points and six assists. Nysier Brooks posted a double-double with 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
Other double-figure scorers for the Black team included Justin Jenifer (13 points) and Trevor Moore (11 points. Rashawn Fredericks added eight points and seven rebounds. Eliel Nsoseme had seven points and seven rebounds.
The Black team shot 55.6 percent (10 of 18) from three-point range as Cumberland, Jenifer and Moore connected on a trio of three-pointers each.
The Red squad did most of its damage inside, outscoring the Black unit 50-28 in the paint, but gave up 17 points off turnovers.
Keith Williams (15 points, eight rebounds), Mamoudou Diarra (11 points) and Logan Johnson (11 points) all reached double figures in scoring for the Red unit.
