// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC, 27-25

The first set was a battle of who could maintain momentum as both teams staged late runs. A 3-0 run put UCF up 5-2 but a Thompson kill and ace allowed UC to answer back. The Knights were able to remain in front until an attack error tied the set at ten. Cabarkapa had a big solo block to tie the set two points later at 11-11. Tied at 15 after a Tingelhoff kill, the Knights went on a 6-0 run. However, the Bearcats dug in and answered with seven straight points to go up 22-21. Thompson had a kill, Tingelhoff served an ace, Nolan had a kill, Cabarkapa and Mallon teamed up for a block and Nolan had another kill during the streak. UCF would not let UC put it away, tying it up at 25, but a kill by Thompson and an ace by Mallon gave the opening set to the Bearcats.
Set 2: UCF, 27-25
The second set was another close one with neither team able to take much of an advantage. The Knights led by three, 8-5, but two straight points by the Bearcats made it a one-point set again. UC pulled in front after back-to-back Mallon kills and on by Thompson. UCF was able to go up by three, but another late UC run put the Bearcats in good position. A 5-0 run thanks to an Erica Kostelac kill, two from Mallon and one from Jasmine Jones caused the Knights to call a timeout as UC went ahead 19-17. Like the first set, it would take extra time to end the second. The Bearcats were leading 24-23, but the Knights scored four of the final five points to even the match.
Set 3: UC, 25-16
UC got out to an early lead to stay in control of set three. After losing the first point, Thompson's back-to-back kills followed by one from Mallon got the Bearcats on their way. The duo also followed each other with kills later on to put UC ahead 13-9. A 4-0 run with a Thompson kill, Jones solo stuff, Jones and Tingelhoff block and a Cabarkapa ace made it a seven-point set, 20-13. Two more kills by Thompson ended the set.
Set 4: UCF, 25-17
The fourth set started out oppositely from the third. After UC went ahead 2-0 on a Jones kill and Nolan ace, UCF went on an 8-0 run. Jones stopped it with another kill. A kill by Kostelac put a halt on another Knights' run as the deficit grew to 20-10. The Bearcats had a late surge, scoring four-straight on two Thompson kills, a Cabarkapa kill and UCF error. UC then made it a 23-17 match with a 3-0 run on Tingelhoff and Cabarkapa kills and a Thompson ace, but UCF scored the next two points on kills to send the match to five.
Set 5: UCF 15-11
UCF got out ahead 3-1 after back-to-back blocks but UC put together a 4-0 run to take a 7-5 advantage. Thompson had three kills and the Knights had an attack error in the streak. However, UCF then scored five-straight to take a lead they would not give up. Trailing 14-9, Thompson recorded another kill and Cabarkapa came up with another solo block, but the Knights would win the match on a kill of their own.
