The regular season begins to wind down for University of Cincinnati volleyball this week. The Bearcats host Tulane for a noon match on Friday then host Memphis on Sunday at 12:30 for Senior Day.

• Friday's noon matchup is UC Faculty/Staff Appreciation with many groups and event surrounding that
• Sunday is Senior Day. Jasmine Jones, Carly Nolan, Jade Tingelhoff and Abby Williams will be honored post match
• Sunday is also wear white
• Beer specials will be available at the concession stands for both matchups
• Fans are asked to bring canned food to exchange for a free t-shirt on Sunday
 
// POSTSEASON PERSPECTIVE
Last weekend UCF wrapped up the American Athletic Conference title and moved up to No. 21 in the national rankings and No. 10 in RPI
• UC is right behind in the standings in second place in the AAC at 12-3 (22-7 overall) and No. 24 in the RPI rankings
• The Bearcats were the first AAC team to earn an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament back in 2016
• That season, the team was 21-9 overall heading into the last regular season match with a strength of schedule rank of No. 28
• Currently, the Bearcats strength of schedule heading into the weekend is No. 27
• UC also hosts one of the top players in the country as Jordan Thompson has lead the nation in kills, points, kills per set and points per set ever since the second week of the season
• Thompson is averaging almost one kill per set more (6.22) than the next closest player, Lindsey Ruddins (5.32) who led the nation in that category at the end of last season
• When looking at totals, Thompson leads with 715 kills and 793 points, with the second-place person totaling 536 kills and 587 points
• The 2018 NCAA selection show will air on ESPNU on Sunday, November 25 at 8:30 p.m.
• 64 teams make the tournament with 32 receiving automatic qualification and the other half earning at-large bids
• The first and second rounds of competition begins at 16 pre-determined campus sites in single-elimination action. Those rounds are held Thursday, November 29 through Saturday, December 1
 
// SENIOR DAY CEREMONY
• Seniors Jasmine Jones, Carly Nolan, Jade Tingelhoff and Abby Williams will all be recognized at the end of Sunday's match
• Jones, a transfer from UNC Greensboro, has played in more than 200 set for the Bearcats
• She has totaled 200 blocks and 275 kills in her UC career, including a career-high nine blocks versus No. 25 Colorado State earlier this season
• Nolan is just the seventh UC player in history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career and is also the AAC career-leader in aces
• A three-time First Team All-AAC honoree, she ranks in the top ten at UC in career kills, digs and aces
• Tingelhoff was the 2016 AAC Setter of the Year and has nearly 60 double-doubles in her career
• She is second all-time in assists in the conference and ranks fourth all-time in the same category at UC
• Williams is second in career digs in the UC record book and sixth in assists, while also ranking fourth in career digs in the AAC
• Her 31 digs in three sets at Tulsa last season marked the first time a Bearcats player recorded 30 or more digs in the 2014 season, and it was previously accomplished in five sets

• UC wraps up the 2018 season at the new Fifth Third Arena
• After the two matches this weekend, the Bearcats host ECU on Wednesday, November 21 at noon for the final game of the regular season

// KNOW THE FOE: TULANE
Tulane is third in the conference standings at 11-4 and 23-7 overall. The Green Wave started 0-4 in conference play after facing Wichita State, Tulsa, UCF and USF and has won every game since then.
 
// SERIES HISTORY: BEARCATS vs. GREEN WAVE

UC is 28-3 all-time against Tulane. Earlier this season the Green Wave won the matchup at home in four sets. The Bearcats won both matches 3-1 in 2017. They also took both in 2016, winning 3-2 on the road at 3-0 at home. Prior to this season, the last time Tulane had beat UC was in 1995 in a five-set home match

// KNOW THE FOE: MEMPHIS
Memphis currently is in a tie for ninth place in the conference at 4-11 and 11-16 on the season. The Tigers' conference wins came at home against Houston and SMU, on the road at UConn, and most recently, a home five-set win over ECU
 
// SERIES HISTORY: BEARCATS vs. TIGERS
UC is 32-21 all-time against Memphis, dating back to 1979. The Bearcats won 3-1 earlier this season and swept both match last year. UC also won in 2016, 3-0 at home and 3-1 on the road. The first meeting between the two teams was a 2-1 victory for the Bearcats back in 1979
