INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – University of Cincinnati swimming and diving set four meet records in the opening day at the House of Champions invitational Friday night hosted at IUPUI Natatorium.
// MEET RECORDS
• Individual competition started with a 4:49.00 win in the 500 free by Rocky Laabs
• Dominic Polling was just shy of breaking his own school record in the 200 IM (1:46.07). He did break the meet record with a 1:46.11 in the victory
• Freshman Olivia Schmelzer swam the 50 free in 22.92 for the win
• The quartet of Natalie Obando, Victoria Hunt, Lina Kutsko and Schmelzer won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:42.59

• The UC record book will have to be rewritten after many Bearcats recorded top ten times
• Sydney St. Rose-Finear and Jordyn Ryan, both freshmen, posted the fifth and eighth fastest times in the 500 free
• Laabs, who won the event, already sits third in the event in school history
• Dalton Lillibridge is now eighth in the 200 IM
• Schmelzer's 50 free time ranks third all-time at UC

• Claire Schuermann won off platform with a score of 219.55 with Tricia Roscoe coming in third and Audrey Capannari in fourth

• Schmelzer, Maddie Exton, Molly Chelovitz and Claire Farrell came in second in the women's 200 free relay
• Polling, Kevin McCaffrey, Alberto Garcia and Alex Fortman put forth a third-place finish in the men's 200 free relay
• The Bearcats grabbed the top four spots in the women's 500 free as Caroline Sheehan followed Laabs, St. Rose-Finear and Ryan with a fourth-place finish
• The men took second through fourth in the 500 free thanks to swims by Din Selmanovic, Justin Crew and Toby Van Dyke
• Remington Oland took fifth in the men's 200 IM
• Farrell was second and Exton fourth in the women's 50 free
