// TEAM NOTES
- Cincinnati improved to 2-1 on the year while Milwaukee fell to 0-4 overall.
- With the win, the Bearcats are now 35-2 at home since the start of the 2016-17 season with a 38-3 record overall in the month of November since the start of the 2012-13 campaign.
- IN THE SERIES: Cincinnati moved to 4-0 all-time against Milwaukee with all four victories coming in the Queen City. Tonight's 11-point margin of victory was the smallest in the four games played, surpassing the 15-point margin UC won by January 17, 1976, in a 76-61 win over Milwaukee inside the Armory Field House.
- Milwaukee is a member of the Horizon League and is the first of two teams from the Horizon that UC will play this year (Northern Kentucky, December 4 at home). With the win, the Bearcats are now 43-3 all-time against the current roster of Horizon League institutions with Mick Cronin sporting a 6-0 record against those teams.
- HALFTIME REPORT: The visiting Panthers took an early 9-3 lead with perfect 4-of-4 shooting, but the Bearcats clawed back and, at the 9:36 mark, a Jarron Cumberland three tied things at 16-16. From there, both teams went back and forth, holding the lead several times each before the first half ended knotted at 33 all. Cane Broome led all scorers with nine points while Nysier Brooks and Trevon Scott each added eight for the Bearcats. Milwaukee was led by Carson Warren-Newsome, who tallied eight points, including 2-of-2 from three-point range. In all, the Panthers had nine different players see action with eight scoring at least two points in the opening stanza.
- UC scored 32 points in the paint, its highest total on the early season after scoring 28 last time out against North Carolina Central.
- The Bearcats are averaging 15 points off turnovers this year after adding 14 tonight off 11 Milwaukee giveaways. So far this year, the Bearcats have forced an average of 13 forced turnovers.
- Trevon Scott recorded his first career double-double as he scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds in the game. His 15 points are also a career high, surpassing the 12 he scored in his last outing against North Carolina Central. That was not the only career high he recorded, however, as he tallied his best marks six other categories, including field goal attempts (13), field goals made (6 for the second game in a row), three-point field goal attempts (3), three-point field goals made (1), rebounds (10) and minutes played (37).
- Scott was not the only Bearcats player with a double-double as Nysier Brooks also collected the first double-double of his career by scoring 12 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting from the floor and pulling down 10 boards. Like Scott, Brooks recorded career-high tallies in three other categories, including field goals made (5), rebounds (10) and minutes played (29).
- Tonight marked the first time since Dec. 1, 2016, that the Bearcats had two individuals record double-doubles in the same contest. The last time it happened came on the road at Iowa State with Gary Clark scoring 10 points and recording 11 rebounds while Kyle Washington scored 11 points and added 10 boards.
- Cane Broome's 17 points were not only a season high (by 12), but also tied the most he has scored for the Bearcats since coming to Cincinnati. Broome, who finished 8-of-12 from the field, including 1-of-4 from three, equaled his best UC outputs after he scored 17 in his debut against Savannah State (11/10/17) and then again against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (12/19/17). Broome finished the game with a team-leading three steals and played 36 minutes.
- The last time Cincinnati had five players score 10 or more points came exactly one year ago (November 16, 2017) against visiting Coppin State. That night, the five Bearcats in double figures included Jarron Cumberland (19), Justin Jenifer (16), Jacob Evans III (12), Kyle Washington (11) and Cane Broome (11).
- Senior guard Justin Jenifer sat out the game due to a stomach virus.
