CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati volleyball had a successful senior day Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 sweep of Memphis.

• The Bearcats are now 24-7 on the season and 14-3 in conference play
• The Tigers drop to 11-18, 4-13 after the loss
• Jordan Thompson had a big day with 26 kills while hitting .558 percent
• Maria Mallon hit an even .500 with 13 kills
• Jade Tingelhoff finished with 36 assists and seven digs
• Carly Nolan had three service aces and nine digs
• Abby Williams led the team with 12 digs
• Jasmine Jones totaled a team-high three blocks
// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC, 25-11
The Bearcats dominated the opening set, hitting .480 with four blocks to take the match lead. Mallon tied the set at four before Williams had an ace and Thompson a kill to put the Bearcats up by two. A 7-0 run pushed the lead to 17-8. Chrysanthi Stamatiou had an ace while serving every point of the scoring spree while Tingelhoff, Mallon and Dasha Cabarkapa all had kills and Tingelhoff and Cabarkapa had a block. The set ended with a 6-0 UC run from a Thompson kill, Jones and Thompson block, Mallon kill, and another kill each from Mallon and Thompson.
Set 2: UC, 25-21
The second set was closer but UC still came out on top. The Bearcats were trailing 7-5 but then tied it on a Jones and Mallon block and a Thompson kill. The match became tied at nearly every-other point for the duration of the game. It wasn't until a Thompson kill forced a Memphis timeout with UC up 22-21. An error out of the break gave the next point to UC then Thompson had back-to-back kills to end the set.
Set 3: UC, 25-18
Set three was back-and-forth at the beginning until the Bearcats began to break away. Mallon had two kills in a row and Nolan had a service ace to make it a 12-9 set, the biggest lead of the set. Kills by Thompson and Nolan kept the advantage with UC as the teams traded points. A late run with two Thompson kills, another Nolan ace and a Mallon kill made it a 22-17 Bearcats' lead. Cabarkapa got in on the action with a kill to make it match-point before Thompson finished the match with another kill.
