Squires Finishes 27th at Sun Bowl Golf Classic

UC senior Austin Squires finishes in 27th place at the Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic.

University of Cincinnati senior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) finished in 27th place at 5-over par 77-71-70=218 Tuesday at the Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas.

Squires received an invite to the prestigious annual event that included a longest drive contest, putting contest and three rounds of play at the El Paso County Club. 

His best round of the event came Tuesday when he shot a bogey-free final-round 1-under 70 with a pair of birdies.  

The Sun Bowl Marathon All-America Golf Classic is one of the premier amateur golf tournaments in the country. Jordan Spieth, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Davis Love III, Justin Thomas, Notah Begay and Jerry Pate are just a handful of past participants who went on to have successful PGA careers. College All-America Golf Classic Alumni have combined to win 52 major championships and have earned over $2 billion in career earnings.
