// COACH ALVEY'S COMMENT
"What a way to close out an undefeated season in the new arena. I think that was spectacular. We broke some pretty big records today. There were some really big offensive performances from Jade, from Carly and from Jordan. It was a really engaging and fun crowd on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. I think it's a lot of credit to the team's success and how fun they are to watch in-person. An incredibly athletic group. High-flying, dynamic, powerful, strong group of women out on the court and so everyone wants to come out to see them and we had a great crowd today."

// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC, 25-20

The Bearcats scored the first point of the set and went on to lead the majority of the way. AN early 3-0 run on two Thompson kills and a Mallon ace put the score at 7-4. The Pirates were able to bring the lead to within one, but another run from a Thompson kill, Nolan ace and Mallon kill grew the UC lead to 14-10. Two ECU attack errors and kills by Nolan and Dasha Cabarkapa kept UC in front late. Cabarkapa made it set-point with a kill and Mallon ended it with another kill.
Set 2: UC, 25-23
ECU started the second set with a block, but a 3-0 run put UC ahead 6-3. Thompson had back-to-back kills and Mallon an ace during the streak. Two kills by Jones and another by Thompson shortly after made it 9-4. The Bearcats held a six-point lead late in the set, but the Pirates were able to work their way back. ECU had three consecutive service aces to cause a UC timeout. A kill and another ace out of the break gave the Pirates a 22-21 lead. Thompson ended the streak with a kill, but ECU tied the set at 22 with a kill of their own. Thompson connected on yet another kill to tie the set back up before a Mallon ace and another Thompson kill gave the set to the Bearcats.
Set 3: UC, 25-14
In the third set, UC gained control early and did not look back. A Nolan ace and kills by Cabarkapa and Mallon gave the Bearcats a 5-2 advantage. Later on, an ace by Chrysanthi Stamatiou and kills by Thompson and Nolan put the lead at 11-7. A Williams ace and an ECU attack error put the Bearcats up six, 17-11. A kill from Jones and back-to-back kills by Nolan completed the match win.
