CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women's basketball defeated the visiting Lipscomb Lady Bisons, 71-55, on Saturday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena.

CINCINNATI –
University of Cincinnati women's basketball defeated the visiting Lipscomb Lady Bisons, 71-55, on Saturday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena.
 
With their third-consecutive win, the Bearcats improved to 5-2 on the season, while the Lady Bisons dropped their third straight to fall to 2-4 on the year.
 
After trailing by as many as six late in the first quarter, UC used a near-six-minute 20-0 run in the second quarter to take control of the game. Entering the third period with a 41-23 advantage, the Bearcats were edged 19-15 in the quarter, but put the Lady Bisons away in the fourth with a 12-4 run late in regulation to seal the victory.
 
With three double-figure scorers, junior forward Angel Rizor (Zebulon, N.C./East Wake) led the way for the Bearcats with 14 points and six rebounds. Junior guard Florence Sifa (Bujumbura, Burundi/Jacksonville College) chipped in 13 points, to go along with four steals, while junior guard Antoinette Miller (Detroit, Mich./Southfield-Lathrup) added 10 points, five assists, and a pair of steals. In addition, senior forward Chelsea Warren (Red Oak, Texas/Red Oak) scored a season-high eight points, while junior guard Sam Rodgers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota East) dished out a game-best and career-high six assists.
 
UC shot 43 percent from the field and knocked down 16-of-19 from the free-throw line. The Red & Black also scored 26 points in the paint, outrebounded the Lady Bisons 35-24, and turned 14 offensive rebounds into 15 second-chance points. Furthermore, the Bearcats got 26 points from their bench, got out in transition for 14 fast-break points, and distributed a season-high 18 assists on 24 made field goals.
