TicketsThe American Athletic Conference announced its final weekly awards for the 2018 season and University of Cincinnati's Jordan Thompson was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Jade Tingelhoff earned a spot on the Honor Roll.
The award is Thompson's eighth this season in 14 weeks of competition. The redshirt-junior averaged 7.00 kills per set in a 3-0 sweep against ECU last Wednesday to close out the regular season. Thompson has led the nation in kills, points, kills per set and points per set since the second week of competition. She broke numerous conference records already this year including career points, career kills, single-season points, single-season kills, single-match kills and four-set match kills. Thompson began the season by being named the AAC Preseason Player of the Year for the third straight time. The AAC postseason awards are set to be announced Tuesday morning.
Tingelhoff landed a spot on the Honor Roll for the second consecutive week after another outstanding performance. The senior setter finished with 41 assists in the 3-0 win against ECU. On her 30th assist of the match, Tingelhoff became the conference's career leader in assists. She also had seven digs in the match. Tingelhoff leads the conference by averaging 9.21 assists per set this season.
