ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Cincinnati men's soccer sophomore goalkeeper Noah Lawrence (Mitchellville, Md./Sacred Heart) recorded a career-best 12 saves in a 1-0 UC defeat at ninth-ranked UCF.

With the loss, the Bearcats' season ended at 3-14-1 overall and 1-6-0 in the American Athletic Conference. Meanwhile, UCF improved to 12-2-2 on the year and 5-1-1 in the AAC. The win clinched the regular-season league championship for the Knights.

In a match that was delayed an hour due to weather in the Orlando area, the two teams competed tightly in the first half. UC developed a couple opportunities on the offensive end and, bolstered by Lawrence, limited the home team on defense. With two big saves by Lawrence late in the opening period, the match went into halftime knotted at zero.

The sophomore goalkeeper continued to shine in the second with a number of clutch saves. In addition, the Bearcats offense tested the UCF defense on multiple occasions, but to no avail. With all signs pointing towards the match going into overtime, the Knights were finally able to best Lawrence and the Bearcats defense with a score during the 84th minute. With the Red & Black searching for the equalizer late, UCF was able to stymie the visitor's advances and dealt a 1-0 defeat.

In addition to a career mark, Lawrence's 12 saves is the most in a match this season by an AAC goalkeeper. Seven different Bearcats recorded a shot on the night with Moritz Schaller (Austria/Vienna University) and Rex Epps (Irmo, S.C./Dutch Fork/Army West Point) both notching a shot on target. As a team, UC attempted six corner kicks.
