// COACH ALVEY'S COMMENT
"It was a tremendous weekend for the Bearcats. All around, just a really fantastic performance. We definitely came out of the weekend improving, and I think we came out of the last two weeks very improved. Besides the performance on the court, the arena is amazing and the fan support is what we want to create as UC volleyball."

// SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: UC, 25-23

After a back-and-forth start, the Bearcats scored six out of seven points to take a 13-8 lead. A block by Jones and Kostealc began it. Mallon added in a kill and Thompson and Cabarkapa had another block during the scoring spurt. Tulsa kept it close, though, coming back to tie the set at 20-20 and then taking a 22-20 lead. UC responded with a 4-0 run as Thompson had three kills and Tingelhoff one. Thompson ended the set with her 11th kill of the day.
Set 2: UC 25,15
UC got off to a commanding 8-1 lead in the second set. Thompson remained locked in with four of the eight points on kills. The momentum continued to build for the Bearcats as kills by Tingelhoff and Kostelac caused a Tulsa timeout when the UC lead grew to 12-4. Another 4-0 made it an 11-point set. Jones started it with a kill, Cabarkapa had a solo block and a kill and Thompson added another kill to her growing total. A serving error and Mallon kill won the set for the Bearcats.
Set 3: UC, 25-15
Tulsa took the first three points in set three, but UC answered with six-straight. Two kills by Kostelac, one from Thompson, one from Tingelhoff and a Cabarkapa ace gave the lead to the Bearcats. Another big run, this one 7-0, added to the UC advantage. Jones began it with a kill, Cabarkapa followed with a block, Thompson had a kill and the latter two teamed up for a block. After a Mallon kill and two Tulsa errors, UC was up by ten, 16-6. The Bearcats had four kills for their final four points to take the match. Those came courtesy of Kostelac, Thompson, Jones and another by Thompson.
