University of Cincinnati swimming and diving completed another day of events at US Winter Nationals and the Miami Invitational on Friday.
// US WINTER NATIONALS
• Lina Kutsko had a third place finish in the C final of the 100 fly
• Din Selmanovic made the finals in the 200 free and finished fifth in the B final
• Dominic Polling also made the finals in the 100 breast, placing seventh in the B final
• Joey Puglessi made it three B final appearances for the Bearcats men as he tied for sixth in the 100 back
// MIAMI INVITATIONAL
• The second day of competition at the Miami Invitational began with Natalie Obando, Grace Seibert, Abby Johnston and Claire Farrell finishing fifth in the 200 medley relay
• On the men's side, Connor Blatt, Zach Baecker, Alberto Garcia and Ryan Hammond were second in the 200 medley relay
• Dee Sopapong finished fourth in the 400 IM
• Remington Oland and Toby Van Dyke were third and fourth, respectively, in the 400 IM
• Camryn Streid was third in the 100 fly
• Francisco Arevalo Rubio was one better, placing second in the 100 fly
• Jordyn Ryan was third and Sydney St. Rose-Finear fourth in the 200 free
• Hans Kabelka won the 200 free with teammate Justin Crew finishing just behind
• Victoria Hunt followed up with another UC win in the 100 breast with Seibert tying for third. Hunt's time was the eighth-fastest in school history
• Baecker came to the wall fourth in the 100 breast
• Obando was third in the 100 back
• The Bearcats swam well in the men's 100 back with Blake Hanna, Oland and Blatt taking seond, third and fourth
• UC's women won the 800 free relay, thanks to swims by Caroline Sheehan, Ryan, St. Rose-Finear and Maddie Exton. They finished in 7:23.05, the eighth-fastest UC time in history
• The men also won the event, thanks to Arevalo Rubio, Crew, Kabelka and Van Dyke. The time of 6:32.44 ranks fourth in the UC record books
• Entering the final day of action, both Bearcats teams rank second in the event standings
