TicketsPROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Cincinnati women's basketball sophomore forward IImar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) has been picked for the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday.
Thomas earned the honor after continuing her hot streak with a new-career-best 23 points – on 10-of-11 shooting -- in an 85-51 home win over Howard on Friday. The sophomore also grabbed a game-best 17 rebounds and recorded new career marks of six assists and three steals.
On the season, Thomas is averaging team highs of 12.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in 25 minutes each game. In her last three games, the forward averaged 21.0 points and 14.7 rebounds.
Entering Monday, she is tops in the conference in field goal percentage at 68 percent on the year. In addition, the forward is seventh in rebounding and 21st in scoring.
Thomas has been recognized by the league each of the last three weeks including, most recently, Player of the Week accolades a week ago. In total, the sophomore has received weekly league recognition eight times in her career.
