University of Cincinnati volleyball's Jordan Thompson has earned 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Second Team honors as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
 
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Thompson becomes the ninth Bearcats student-athlete to receive the honor, dating back to the 1991 season. She is also the first Academic All-District volleyball honoree since 2015.
 
Thompson earned the recognition for having a cumulative GPA of 3.61 while majoring in criminal justice. The redshirt-junior has earned a long list of awards already this season as she has emerged as one of the top players in the country. Most recently, she was named AVCA All-Region. Thompson has been named the American Athletic Conference unanimous Player of the Year, two-time AVCA National Player of the Week, three-time VolleyMob National Player of the Week and eight-time AAC Offensive Player of the Week, to name a few. She has led the country in kills, points, kills per set and points per set since the second week of the season and broke numerous records, including single-season kills and points at UC and the AAC, career kills and points for the AAC and single-match kills for UC and the AAC, shattering all previous records.
