University of Cincinnati baseball remains on the road this week for two midweek games. UC will play at Xavier on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and at Louisville on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

// SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Xavier

• Cincinnati is 94-54-1 all-time against Xavier
• The Musketeers made the trip to Marge Schott Stadium earlier this season with the Bearcats winning that game 10-7
• The teams met three times last season. Xavier won the first meeting 9-1 at the Joe Nuxhall Classic hosted by UC. Cincinnati then won at home 10-8 later on. XU took the final meeting at home by a score of 7-1 later in the season
• The Bearcats and Musketeers have a few common opponents this season. XU lost 13-3 at California, swept Miami in a three-game series, beat Wright State 2-0 then fell to both Miami and Wright State in the Joe Nuxhall Classic
Louisville
• UC was supposed to travel to Louisville earlier this season but that game was postponed due to inclement weather
• Cincinnati is 85-99 all-time against Louisville
• The Bearcats won their biggest game in program history when the two teams met last season. The Cardinals came to Marge Schott Stadium as the No. 1 team in the country and the Bearcats beat them by a score of 6-3
Kyle Mottice, Eric Santiago and Joey Thomas all had two hits in that game
• The last time UC won at Louisville was in 2008 in an 11-2 victory
• Prior to the win last season, the Cardinals had won the previous twelve matchups
 
// CONFERENCE CLINCHERS
• The Bearcats' win on Sunday at Wichita State clinched a berth in the AAC Tournament coming up at the end of the month
• Six teams secured a seed while three teams are still in contention for the final two spots
• Houston sits atop the standings at 14-7 (.667)
• There is a three-way tie for second place as ECU, USF and UConn are all 11-7 (.611)
• Cincinnati is just a game back in fifth place at 10-8 (.556)
• UCF is the sixth team to clinch, sitting at 11-10 (.524) in conference play
• Tulane is in seventh at 7-11 (.389)
• Wichita State is eighth (6-12, .333) and Memphis is currently in ninth (3-15, .167)
 
// DYNAMITE DEFENSE
• UC had perhaps its best weekend of defense this past weekend at Wichita State
• The team recorded seven double plays in the three-game series and turned a triple play on Saturday
Jordan Ramey earned the No. 3 spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays with a sensational diving grab over the wall in right field during the second inning of Friday night's contest
Treg Haberkorn followed that with a leaping, tumbling grab in the sixth inning of the series-opener
• The Bearcats now rank fourth in the country in total double plays and second in double plays per game
 
// WEEKLY HONORS
• Haberkorn was named the conference's Player of the Week on Monday for his outstanding performances in four games
• He hit an even .500 on the week with a .765 on-base percentage
• Haberkorn was walked four times, hit five times, opened the Wichita State series with a RBI double and smacked a three-run homerun in the series finale
• The center fielder also made a great diving catch on Friday and stole a total of four bases on the week
Cam Alldred earned a spot on the AAC weekly Honor Roll after a brilliant start on Sunday
• The lefty set the pace on the mound for the Bearcats to get the win and the series victory
• Alldred went 7.0 innings with one run, three hits, two walks and ten strikeouts
 
// LOOKING AHEAD
• Cincinnati is currently in the midst of a nine-game road swing
• After the pair of midweek games, UC travels to No. 10 ECU for a three-game series this upcoming weekend
• The Bearcats return home for an 11 a.m. game against Ohio State on Tuesday, May 15
• The regular season comes to a close at home Thursday, May 17 through Saturday, May 19 in a conference series with USF
