CINCINNATI - The Bearcats women's tennis team opened the spring season on a strong note with a 7-0 sweep of the Butler Bulldogs at Western Tennis & Fitness Club. The Bulldogs came in looking to avenge the 2018 loss to the Bearcats & it showed as doubles competition began. However, the Bearcats swept doubles play and quickly tightened the leash.

The Bulldogs bared their sharp teeth, but were quickly sent home without a single treat as the Bearcats swept singles play as well. This match was the first time since January 20, 2017 the women's tennis team did not lose a single set during the match. The 2017 match was also a season opener held at Western Tennis & Fitness Club as the team faced off with IUPUI.

// COACH TOTH ON THE BEARCATS
"It's been a long time coming. We grind through all the fall events, but this team competition is what this team really embraces. We're really proud of the performance that we put out there tonight. Doubles was a super positive as Butler came out and served really well, but we returned better. We won routinely and it carried over to singles. Everybody played complete matches and it's a good passing grade for the first match."
