// LOOKING BACK
The Bearcats opened the season sweeping the Butler Bulldogs in straight sets. This was the first time since 2017 that the team accomplished that feat. Freshman Maria Santilli notched her first collegiate career duals win in a 6-0, 6-4 singles victory over Butler's Lauryn Padgett. Emma Miceli, looking to build on her strong showing in her freshman season, started her sophomore campaign off with a 6-1, 6-2 singles victory. Senior Antonella Bramato took the singles point on the #1 court with a 6-2, 6-3 victory and helped clinch the doubles point, combining with Alexia Coutino on the #1 court for a 6-0 doubles victory.

// TOWERING TRIUMPHS
Miceli will look to continue her six-match singles win streak in duals, dating back to a 6-3, 6-3 win against Western Kentucky on March 23, 2018.

// SCOUTING THE HOOSIERS
Indiana will open their 2019 season with back-to-back matches against teams from Cincinnati. They will face Xavier at 11 a.m. before turning their attention to the Bearcats. The Hoosiers are led by senior Madison Appel, currently ranked the #97 singles player in the ITA rankings.

The Hoosiers have won the last 9 meetings between the two teams, dating back to January 30, 2010.

// SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Louisville began it's season by showing it was the more dominant aviary as they defeated the Falcons of Bowling Green and RedHawks of Miami (OH) in back-to-back matches on January 20. They weren't done flexing their wings against flight prone foes as they took down the Cardinals of Ball State to move to 3-0 at the time of writing. They will look to sharpen their beaks against Northern Kentucky on January 25 at 5 p.m., before turning their attention to the Bearcats.

The Cardinals are led by Aleksandra Mally, currently ranked the #122 singles player in the ITA rankings. Mally had a rough outing against Miami (OH), but bounced back to 6-2, 6-2 victory at the #1 court in singles against Ball State.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since April 3, 2016. The Cardinals have won the last 9 matches between the two.
