BLOOMINGTON, In. - The Bearcats women's tennis team fell to the Indiana Hoosiers 4-3 on Saturday night in Bloomington. As much of a heartbreaking defeat as it is, the match shows the growth and improvement the team has made.
In last year's match, the Hoosiers defeated the Bearcats 4-1. This year's match mirrored last year's only in the sense that the Bearcats clinched the doubles point. Following doubles play, the Bearcats clinched singles points on courts #6 and #5. While the Hoosiers may have taken points on other singles courts, the Bearcats did not make it easy. The matches on the #2 and #1 courts went to 3 sets, while tie breakers happened on the #1 and #4 courts.

// COACH TOTH ON THE BEARCATS
"Sports is about opportunity and taking advantage of what is in front of you and we just came up a bit short tonight. Indiana girls' really deserve a lot of credit as they endured a very long day playing a tough match earlier in the day. They simply competed better than us and deserved the win. We need to regroup quickly as a good Louisville team awaits. We will find a lot about what our team is made of tomorrow."
