CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team heads north to take on the Toledo Rockets on February 2, 2019 at the Twos Athletic Club. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

// LOOKING BACK
The Bearcats played a pair of matches on the road against the Indiana Hoosiers and Louisville Cardinals. In both matches, the team clinched the doubles point, making it three straight matches they have done so. The duo of Antonella Bramato and Alexia Coutino lead the team in doubles victories as they hold a 3-0 record for the season with all their victories coming at the #1 court. Freshman Maria Santilli continues to impress in singles action as she moved to 3-0 for the season. She fell behind early on against Louisville in the first set, 5-2, but battled back to take the set 7-5 and then the match with a 6-1 victory in the second set. All three of her victories have come on the #5 court.

// SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
The Rockets fueled up for their first match of the season on January 20, 2019 against Valparaiso and jettisoned to a 7-0 victory. Before they face the Bearcats, they will square off with Saint Francis on Friday, February 1 at 1 p.m.

The Rockets finished their 2018 mission with a 16-7 record, falling in the semifinals of the MAC Tournament to the Miami (OH) RedHawks. They finished with a 5-3 record in conference play, including a 6-1 victory over Northern Illinois and 5-2 victories over Bowling Green and Ball State.

In the last meeting between the two teams on February 16, 2018, the Rockets bested the Bearcats in a 4-3 victory. Toledo took the doubles point to open the match, but the Bearcats battled back. Antonella Bramato got the Bearcats on the board with a victory at the #5 court and Toledo quickly answered taking the #3 court. Anna Philp and Ioana Guna added two more points for the Bearcats with victories on the #6 and #1 courts respectively. The Rockets proved to have a little more fuel in the tank as they took the #4 and #2 courts to clinch the match.
