TicketsPROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Cincinnati women's basketball senior guard Nikira Goings (Marietta, Ga./Osborne) has been selected to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday.
Goings earned the honor after averaging 16.0 points, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 rebounds as the Bearcats split a pair of games last week.
She came off the bench to score 18 points, including three 3-pointers, in a 57-56 win at USF on Wednesday. The guard then followed – again in a reserve role -- with 14 points, including four made 3-pointers, in a 65-55 loss to No. 2 UConn on Saturday.
On the season, the senior is averaging 9.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game with 33-percent shooting from 3-point range.
Entering Monday, she is ninth in The American with 1.7 made 3-pointers per game and is tied for 28th in scoring average.
Monday's weekly conference recognition is Goings' first this season and the second of her career. A Bearcats player has been honored by The American seven weeks this season, including the last three.
