CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati men's soccer will compete in the 2019 Columbus Crew Spring College League.

The spring league is comprised of eight NCAA Division I teams from the Midwest Region playing in two separate brackets. The Bearcats are guaranteed to play four matches in the tournament -- three in the round-robin group stage and one in the finals. The Red & Black will also host its annual Alumni Match on March 31. The Bearcats' home spring matches will be played at Gettler Stadium with admission free of charge as part of the Experience UC initiative.

"First of all, we would like to thank the Columbus Crew for putting together this spring league," said head coach Hylton Dayes. "It's a great way to add a more competitive element to our spring matches and is a critical development opportunity that has not been available to us previously. It will make the spring matches more meaningful since the players will be in a pressure environment where the results do count."

UC will host Marshall on March 16 at 1 p.m. ET and Northern Kentucky on March 30 at 4 p.m. ET. The Red & Black will then visit Ohio State on April 6 for a 4 p.m. ET kickoff. All teams will then advance to the finals on April 14 at the Crew's facilities in Columbus, Ohio. In the finals, based on its placement in its bracket, each team will face the corresponding team in the other bracket to decide a winner. All-Tournament honors, a championship trophy, and an MVP accolade will be awarded.

The new-look, spring schedule features competition week in and week out designed to replicate a year-round model. The tournament will also offer exposure for players in front of professional scouts and coaches.
