Baseball Celebrates Start of Season with First Pitch ReceptionBaseball Celebrates Start of Season with First Pitch Reception
The University of Cincinnati baseball program celebrated the start of the upcoming 2019 season last Thursday night with fans, alumni and supporters at its First Pitch Reception.

Director of Athletics Mike Bohn, Head Coach Scott Googins and former Bearcat and MLB star Josh Harrison all addressed the crowd and the 2019 team mingled with attendees.

One highlight of the evening came at the announcement that as a result of the generosity of a devoted former player and a loyal supporter, every philanthropic gift made to UC baseball this season will be matched – dollar for dollar – up to $100,000.   These funds will provide critical operational support to advance competitive excellence and help student-athletes win.  Funds will be used towards:
  • Upgrades at Marge Schott Stadium, which will help improve the current student-athlete experience, but also help with recruiting
  • Purchase of technology to help with performance
  • Needs for wellness, recovery and nutrition for student-athletes
  • Boosting the travel budget
