University of Cincinnati baseball is back on the road this weekend at Houston Baptist. Games are scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, all EST.

• Houston Baptist enters the weekend an even 2-2
• The Huskies won two out of three games at home last weekend against Northeastern
• Most recently, they dropped a 6-0 decision at UT Rio Grande Valley on Tuesday
• HBU finished 29-30 in 2018 and 18-12 in conference play
• In the Southland Conference Tournament, HBU took down No. 1 seed Sam Houston State in the Huskies' third game played and eventually made it to the semifinal where they ended their season
• This weekend marks the first meeting against Cincinnati and Houston Baptist

• Despite opening the season at 0-3, the Bearcats were close to finishing the opening weekend at FAU with a different record
• UC was one out away every time FAU scored, as the Owls plated every run of the weekend on two outs
• Also, FAU scored the majority of its runs in a single inning each game
• They had an eight-run inning on Friday, a five-run inning on Saturday and a four-run inning on Sunday

• A handful of freshmen made their pitching debuts last weekend
• Drake Batcho threw 3.1 innings in relief with a team-high five strikeouts, not giving up a run with two hits
• Nick Murray also made an appearance on opening night, going 2.0 frames with three strikeouts
• Evan Shawver got the tough-luck loss in Saturday's eleven-inning game after throwing 3.2 innings with three hits and one run
• Sophomore Garrett Schoenle looked good in the Sunday start. He gave up just two hits and no runs in 4.0 innings with a strikeout. He threw just 9.0 frames during his freshman campaign

• A lot of new faces saw time at FAU
• Transfer Jeremy Johnson posted the second-highest batting average with a .364 mark and hit the team's first homerun of the season. He also stole two bases and had a double-play playing center field with an outfield assist
• Mitch Holding played in two games with a start on Saturday and a pinch-hit appearance
• Wyatt Stapp started as the DH in all three games while Joey Bellini started two out of three games at shortstop
• Pitchers Chase Stewart and Korren Thompson each saw time on the mound in relief
