CINCINNATI – Connecticut native Cane Broome's three-point shooting heroics late in Sunday's 64-60 win over UConn in Hartford, Conn., helped the University of Cincinnati escape with its third consecutive victory and propelled the senior guard to American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll accolades.

The league recognized Broome among its weekly awards Monday, one day after he hit a pair of three-pointers inside the final 1:29 of the contest, including a 30-footer with 12 seconds to go that came just before the shot clock expired. The East Hartford, Conn., native finished with 10 points as the Bearcats won for the 11th time in their past 12 games.

Broome averaged 9.5 points last week in a pair of Bearcats' victories, shooting a team-best 53.8 percent (7 of 13) from the field. He scored nine points on 4 of 7 shooting with a three-pointer against UCF on Thursday.

Broome's scoring impact on the Bearcats continues to grow as the season winds to March. The senior guard has tallied 10 or more points in five of the last eight games, averaging 9.1 points while shooting 43.9 percent (25 of 57) from the floor and 43.5 percent (10 of 23) from three-point range. He's made seven of his last 11 three-point attempts over Cincinnati's last four games.

Broome also ranks 11th in the American Athletic Conference in free throw shooting percentage (.778), making 28 of 36 since the start of league play.

For the season, Broome is averaging 8.4 points as Cincinnati's primary scorer off the bench.
