BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – University of Cincinnati baseball fell 7-1 at Indiana on Tuesday in the team's first midweek game of the season.
 
// NOTABLES
• Jeremy Johnson went 2-for-4 at the plate and added in a stolen base
• Dondrae Bremner was 1-for-3 with a double and scored UC's sole run. He was also robbed of an extra-base hit when Indiana's center fielder made a sliding catch to the wall for an out
• Drake Batcho was tagged with the loss after going 2.1 innings in the start with three runs, three hits, five walks and two strikeouts
• Nathan Moore pitched 2.0 solid innings in relief with no runs, one hit, one walk and three strikeouts
• Chase Stewart also looked sharp. He followed Moore with 2.0 frames, walking two and striking out two while not giving up a hit
• Korren Thompson threw the final inning and faced the minimum
 
// KEY INNINGS
Bottom of the 1st
Batcho started his day on the mound with two strikes but gave up a leadoff homerun. Indiana then put two runners on, but a double play ended the inning
Top of the 2nd
• Bremner led off with a four-pitch walk, stole second and scored on a RBI single up the middle by Cole Murphy
Bottom of the 3rd
• The game did not stay tied long as Indiana posted a four-run frame. It started with a walk and single and a double to left center cleared the bases. Two more runs came in on a homerun to left during the next at-bat
Bottom of the 8th
• The Hoosiers were handed the last two runs of the game. After two walks, an error allowed a run to score and put runners on the corners. The next batter hit into a double play, but the runner on third came home to make it a 7-1 game

• UC remains on the road this weekend for a three-game series at No. 18 Auburn
• The Bearcats host their first game at Marge Schott Stadium on Friday, March 8. That game begins an eight-game homestand
