PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A pair of University of Cincinnati women's basketball student-athletes collected American Athletic Conference Weekly Honors on Tuesday with sophomore forward IImar'I Thomas (Oakland, Calif./Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep) picked as Player of the Week, while junior forward Angel Rizor (Zebulon, N.C./East Wake) selected for the Weekly Honor Roll.
 
Thomas earned the honor after averaging 15.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game as the Bearcats went 2-0 over the past week. Rizor garnered the accolade after posting averages of 14.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in UC's pair of wins.
 
The California native notched her sixth double-double of the season with game highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds in an 80-65 win Monday at Tulane. Prior, she scored 13 points and pulled down nine rebounds in a 57-43 win Saturday vs. USF.
 
The junior forward, Rizor, stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and a block in the win at Tulane. Previously, against USF, she added 13 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
 
On the season, Thomas is averaging team highs of 13.3 points and 7.2 rebounds a game. Meanwhile, Rizor is tallying 9.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest. In conference play, the pair posted 14.4 points & 7.1 rebounds and 9.9 points & 6.2 rebounds, respectively, each time out.
 
Entering Monday, Thomas is second in the AAC and 11th nationally in field-goal percentage at 60.5 percent. In addition, the sophomore forward's scoring average ranks ninth in The American, while her rebounding average stands as 10th. Furthermore, Rizor is 29th in scoring, 17th in rebounding, and eighth in field-goal percentage (.479) in the league.
 
Thomas has received weekly recognition by the league five times this season, including Player of the Week on Dec. 17, 2018. In total, the sophomore has garnered weekly AAC accolades 10 times in her young career. Monday's honor is the first of Rizor's career.
