CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball fell 8-3 Tuesday to Wright State in game four of its current eight-game homestand.
// NOTABLES
• Joey Bellini had the best day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and RBI
• Jace Mercer and Jeremy Johnson both had a 2-for-4 day in the top two spots of the lineup with a RBI and a walk each
• Wyatt Stapp was also 2-for-4
• Drake Batcho went 4.1 innings in the start with three runs on five hits, totaling five strikeouts
• Nathan Moore followed with 3.2 frames out of the bullpen with four strikeouts and Nick Murray threw the final inning

Top of the 5th
• It took until the fifth for scoring to get started and the Raiders got it going first with a three-run inning. It started with a walk and a RBI double. A triple and sacrifice fly scored the other two runs
Top of the 7th
• Wright State took a 4-0 lead on a single and double

• The Bearcats got on the board when Bellini singled, advanced on a single by JP Bitzenhofer and scored on a base hit by Mercer
Top of the 9th
• The Raiders would post another big inning with a four-run ninth. Three walks loaded the bases before a base hit plated two. After a hit batter loaded the bases again, another single and a fielder's choice scored the other two runs
Bottom of the 9th
• UC was able to get two runs back late. It started when Eric Santiago reached on an error and A.J. Bumpass singled. Bellini then had his big hit with RBI double down the left field line. Mercer walked to load the bases before Johnson worked a walk for his RBI. A fly out and strikeout would end the game with three runners on

• The current homestand continues with a 4pm game against Indiana on Wednesday
• Niagara then comes to Cincinnati to begin a three-game series on Friday. Game times are set for Friday at 4pm, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at noon
