MESA, Ariz. – University of Cincinnati women's golf sophomore Angela Lopez (Bogotá, Colombia) is leading the Bearcats following two rounds at the Notre Dame Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club with a two-round score of 157 to place in a tie for 49th overall.
As a team, the Bearcats are in 14th place after totaling 652 over two rounds.
Lopez paced UC in Friday's opening round with a 77 featuring a pair of birdies. The native Colombian followed with an 80 during Saturday's second round to move into a tie for 49th on the player leaderboard.
Senior Anika Hitt (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) backed up Friday's score of 85 with an improved 77 on Saturday, including a birdie and 10 pars. Freshman Lily Rinker (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy) progressed in Saturday's second round with a score of 82 after carding an 87 yesterday. Competing as an individual, senior Emma Wachtel (Rorschwihr, France/Sturm Gymnasium) also bounced back in a strong way on Saturday with a seven-stroke improvement for a second-round 76 which included a pair of birdie scores.
