TicketsMESA, Ariz. – University of Cincinnati women's golf finished play Sunday at the Notre Dame Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club with a third-round score of 318 to finish 14th in the highly-competitive tournament.
After struggling during the first two rounds on Friday and Saturday, the Bearcats turned in their best performance of the weekend on Sunday with a third-round 318. A number of UC players finished strong with four of the five members of the scoring team carding their best rounds of the tournament.
Senior Anika Hitt (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) replicated her second-round score with a 77 again on Sunday to lead the Red & Black in a tie for 67th overall. Junior Alyssa Burriit (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) bounced back from a second-round 83 with a score of 77 in the final round to finish 71st. Freshman Lily Rinker (Toledo, Ohio/Saint Ursula Academy) and junior Daniela Murcia (Bogotá, Colombia) both turned in their best performances over the three days with scores of 82 on Sunday.

"Disappointment, frustration, and progress are all the words from this weekend. Completely disappointed in our team's performance from an outcome perspective. Frustrated that it took us too long to make the adjustments necessary to play the golf course well. But it's also one of the most competitive courses that we play each year. This course exposed our weaknesses which is great because we have time to work on those prior to the conference championship. We will get back for one day and turn around and leave for Gulf Shores, Alabama on Tuesday and we expect to see progress made there. We had some individual performances that we're good, but we need to continue to make those better.
