TicketsDAYTON, Ohio – University of Cincinnati baseball scored some late runs but could not come back against Wright State on Tuesday, losing by a final score of 10-4.

• A.J. Bumpass went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the game
• Joey Bellini also had three hits with a double, run scored and RBI
• Mason DeAnna finished 2-for-2 with a walk
• David Orndorff got the start on the mound and was tagged with the loss after 2.0 innings
• Drake Batcho followed out of the bullpen with no earned runs, no walks and two hits in 2.0 innings
• Jackson Murphy also threw 2.0 frames for the Bearcats followed by an inning from Nick Murray

Bottom of the 1st
• A leadoff single followed by a homerun to left field gave Wright State an early lead
Bottom of the 2nd
• A three-run inning made it a 5-0 game. Those runs came via three singles and a two-run double
Bottom of the 4th
• The Raiders plated two more in the fourth. A single, stolen base an error put runners on the corners. A triple on a 0-2 count then cleared the bases
Top of the 5th
• The Bearcats broke through with one in the fifth. Bumpass started the inning with a double, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by DeAnna, then scored on a Jeremy Johnson single
Top of the 6th
• Bellini started the scoring in the sixth when he singled. Joey Wiemer then walked and Wyatt Stapp hit a fly ball to move runners to the corners. Bumpass picked up a RBI on a base hit.
Bottom of the 6th
• The Raiders were able to get both of those runs back on a single, stolen base, another single and a throwing error
Bottom of the 7th
• Wright State tacked on one more, putting the score at 10-2, on a walk and double
Top of the 9th
• UC started a rally in the final frame. Bumpass led off with a single, Cole Murphy reached on an error and DeAnna walked to load the bases. With two outs, Bellini hustled out an infield single to score a run. Wiemer had a base hit of his own to move every runner a base. However, a fly out to left field ended the game.
