TicketsUniversity of Cincinnati senior Austin Squires (Union, Ky./Ryle High School) slipped three places into a tie for eighth place at even-par 142 after a second-round 1-over 71 Saturday at the Furman Intercollegiate in Greenville, S.C.
Squires started strong with three birdies for a 3-under 32 at the turn but finished 1-over on the day after taking five bogies on the back nine. Squires enters Sunday's final round nine strokes behind tournament co-leaders Keller Harper of Furman (9-under 70-63=133) and Wes Artac of Coastal Carolina (9-under 69-64=133).

The Bearcats are 12th in the team standings after two rounds at 27-over 300-295=595. Coastal Carolina moved into the lead Saturday at 7-under 282-279=561.

Freshman Sean Jean (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove High School) made the most improvement Saturday, jumping 17 spots into a tie for 60th place at 8-over 77-73=150. Sophomore Clay Amlung (Louisville, Ky./Saint Xavier High School) slipped into a tie at 96th place at 13-over 78-77=155. Redshirt-freshman Mason Lenhart (Prospect, Ky./North Oldham High School) finished tied for 101st at 14-over 79-77=156.

"We have struggled on and around the greens so much it's almost unbelievable. Through two rounds we have gotten the ball up and down at a 41-percent clip and averaged 32.2 putts per round per player. With those numbers it's pretty difficult to have any success."
