The American Athletic Conference named University of Cincinnati's Garrett Schoenle the Pitcher of the Week after his career performance on Sunday.

Schoenle helped UC capture the series victory at USF as he threw 8.1 innings with one run, four hits, three walks and twelve strikeouts. His twelve punch outs were the most by any UC pitcher since Glen Simon struck out 13 in 7.0 innings against North Carolina A&T on February 19, 2006. After giving up a single in the first frame, Schoenle did not allow another hit until the sixth. The Bulls' only run came in the ninth once the sophomore starter was removed from the game with one out and runners on first and second after a base hit and a walk.

Schoenle is the first UC player to earn a player or pitcher of the week nod from the American this season. Teammate Wyatt Stapp was named to the AAC Honor Roll on March 11.
