CINCINNATI – The Bearcats women's tennis team was back on-campus and back in the win column as they grounded the Dayton Flyers in a 7-0 victory.

The Flyers looked for an open runway, but the Bearcats put them in a holding pattern as the duo of Antonella Bramato and Alexia Coutino jumped out to a 6-2 victory on court #1. Freshman Maria Santilli made her first career dual match appearance in doubles as she teamed up with Emma Miceli to put the Flyers in a ground stop as they clinched the doubles point in a 6-3 victory on court #3.
 
Bramato/Coutino move to 9-4 for the season.
 
Philp/Guna remain 7-4 for the season.

As play moved to singles the Flyers were hoping to finally pushback and head out, but were hit with last minute paperwork. Emma Miceli advanced the Bearcats lead to 2-0 as she notched her ninth singles victory of the dual season in a 6-1, 2-0 showing. Alexia Coutino kept the momentum going for the Bearcats as she recorded a 6-0, 6-1 victory on court #6. With the Flyers growing restless, they quickly found out that the Bearcats had no intention of letting them off the ground as Antonella Bramato clinched the match victory with a 6-1, 6-0 victory on court #2.
 
The Flyers would not go away easily as they tried to fire up the engines, but Ioana Guna took that idea away as she continued the Bearcats strong showing with a 6-4, 6-1 victory on court #1. Maria Santilli showed the Flyers that they had made a mistake and entered in to a No-Fly Zone as she kept the pressure on with a 6-0, 6-4 victory on court #3. In the end, the Flyers were forced to deplane and head home as Anna Philp completed the sweep for the Bearcats in a 6-3, 7-6 (1) victory on court #5.
 
The marks the Bearcats fifth 7-0 sweep of the season.
 
Santilli moves to 10-2 in singles for the season, remains 7-0 on the #5 court.
 
Miceli moves to 9-2 for the season.
 
Bramato moves to 7-3 for the season.
 
Morton remains 8-5 for the season.

"It's great to be back on campus. Last year we got shut out, so for our sophomores it was their first home dual match outside. Everyone did a great job today. Anna Philp had the closest match, but Anna also played probably the player from Dayton who played the best today. From what I saw she did a great job, her serve was off today and it was probably why the score was closer than it needed it to be, but Anna is doing a good job for us. You win 7-0, you did a lot of things right, but business is really going to pick up as we play Memphis. They're a conference opponent, well coached, their girls play the right way, they do it the right way and it's always a good match against them."

The Bearcats are back on the road as they head to Memphis, Tennessee to take on the Memphis Tigers in an American Athletic Conference match. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, March 29.
 
Following the match against Memphis, the Bearcats will rest up and be back on the court to face the Marshall Thundering Herd in Memphis. The neutral site match is scheduled for an 11 a.m. ET start on Saturday, March 30.
