CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball took the final game of the series against Tulane by a score of 7-6 Sunday afternoon.
 
The Bearcats went up big early, scoring all their runs in the first three innings to hold a 7-1 advantage, then held on as the Green Wave made it a one-run game.
 
// NOTABLES
• UC moves to 10-16 on the season and an even 3-3 in conference play
• Tulane falls to 19-9 overall and 2-1 in the American Athletic Conference
• Bearcats pitchers held Tulane's tough offense to just four hits on the day
• Garrett Schoenle lasted 3.0 innings in the start with three runs and Drake Batcho followed with 3.0 innings of relief to earn the win
• Nathan Moore and Chase Stewart teamed up to throw a scoreless frame
• Korren Thompson earned his fourth save of the season in 2.0 innings of work with one run, one hit, two walks and four strikeouts
• Eric Santiago and Cole Murphy had two hits each
• A.J. Bumpass had a team-high two RBI and kept his hit streak going
• Jeremy Johnson scored two runs after a double and a walk and also added in a stolen base

Top of the 1st
Tulane was first to score as two walks, a wild pitch and sacrifice fly brought in a run
Bottom of the 1st
• UC answered with three runs, all on two outs. Wyatt Stapp, Joey Wiemer and Mitch Holding all walked before Bumpass hit home two. Santiago followed with a single to score another
Bottom of the 2nd
• The Bearcats added two more in the next frame when Johnson walked, Joey Bellini singled and Stapp earned a RBI on a sacrifice fly. Wiemer then singled to advance the runner before Holding earned a RBI on a base hit
Bottom of the 3rd
• Two more runs came home in the third. Murphy singled, Johnson doubled and a Jace Mercer fielder's choice allowed Murphy to come home. A ground out then let Johnson score
Top of the 4th
• The Green Wave got two back on two walks, a double and a wild pitch
 Top of the 7th
• Tulane brought the lead closer on two walks, two wild pitches and a base hit
Top of the 8th
• It became a one-run game on a solo homerun, but Thompson got a fly out and struck out the final two batters of the eighth
