The University of Cincinnati volleyball program continued its relationship with Special Olympics with two separate events this past weekend.

The team partnered with Special Olympics and NKU for a unified scrimmage on Sunday in Fifth Third Arena. The night before, Head Coach Molly Alvey was invited to participate in the 2019 Evening for Champions put on by Special Olympics Hamilton County.

// UNIFIED SCRIMMAGE
UC, NKU and Special Olympics volleyball athletes gathered at Fifth Third Arena Sunday afternoon for friendly competition. All three teams arrived at 11:30 a.m. for a meet and greet before the unified scrimmage began at noon. The day ended with UC taking down NKU in a spring match.

// EVENING OF CHAMPIONS
UC Head Coach Molly Alvey attended Special Olympics of Hamilton County's 2019 Evening of Champions on Saturday evening. The theme of the event was Coaches: Changing Lives. Alvey was one of four area coaches that took part of a discussion moderated by Jesse Tack of B105 FM. The event acts as an annual fundraiser for Special Olympics Hamilton County.

// SPRING SEASON CONTINUES
The Bearcats spring season will continue this weekend with a trip to Oxford, Ohio, to take on Miami. UC will return home on April 13 for an alumnae scrimmage.
