Bearcats baseball is back in American Athletic Conference action this weekend as it hosts UCF for a three-game series at Marge Schott Stadium.

• UC is 73-104 all-time against Miami
• The two teams met in the championship game of the Joe Nuxhall Classic last Wednesday with the RedHawks able to win for the third year in a row with an eleven-inning victory
• Miami is off to a strong start this season at 29-6 overall and has won its last five games, including a weekend series sweep of Bowling Green
• Last season, UC dropped both meetings, losing in a 9-8 walkoff during the Nuxhall title game then later on the road by a score of 7-2

• Joey Bellini was named to the American Athletic Conference weekly Honor Roll as announced on Monday
• He had a big week at the plate to pace the Bearcats, hitting .550 with a .609 on-base percentage through five games, including a 6-for-10 performance in the weekend conference series against UCF
• Bellini began the week by going 1-for-4 with a double and a RBI in a 2-1 win over Xavier. He followed with a 4-for-6 outing in the Joe Nuxhall Classic championship game versus Miami that lasted eleven innings
• In the weekend series against UCF, he was one of the only UC players to have success at the plate in Friday night's loss then spearheaded a doubleheader sweep with three hits and two RBI in the first game and two hits and two runs scored in the second game
• Bellini started at shortstop in all five games this past week and did not commit an error with eight putouts and twelve assists. He added in a sacrifice hit and was successful on his lone stolen base attempt.
// CONFERENCE STANDINGS
• The Bearcats enter the week tied for third place in the American, the fifth-toughest RPI conference in the nation
• At 7-5 in AAC play, UC is tied with UConn and trails ECU (8-1) and Tulane (7-2)
• The Bearcats travel to fourth-place Houston for a three-game series this week
• UC has won conference series at USF, at nationally-ranked UConn and home against UCF, only dropping one series so far at home against Tulane
• The Bearcats hold the best fielding percentage in the conference and are also tied for first in triples and are first in stolen bases

• After the home contest against Miami, UC travels to Houston for a three-game series
• This week's conference matchups will run Thursday through Saturday with Sunday as an off day around the league
• The Bearcats return home next week for five games, hosting Louisville and Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday and Wednesday and Wichita State for a weekend series
