TicketsMEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Cincinnati women's golf carried its momentum over from Monday's improved second round with third-round 297 – its best round of the tournament and one of the five-best of the day – to finish the Memphis Intercollegiate in 11th place at Ridgeway Country Club.
Senior Anika Hitt (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) paced UC in 29th place with a final-round 73. Junior Alyssa Burritt (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) was a stroke better on Tuesday with a third-round 72. In total, four Bearcats turned in their best rounds of the tournament on Tuesday.
Hitt's third round was strong, in particular going 1-under-par on the back nine holes. Burritt was also impressive with a pair of birdies during the round. Sophomores Angela Lopez (Bogotá, Colombia) and Amalia Shahzan (Kedah, Malaysia) combined to sink four birdies to notch rounds of 76 and 79, respectively. Sophomore Vanessa Manrique (Bogotá, Colombia), too, saved her best for last with a score of 76.
UC will have two weeks off from competition before returning to action April 14-16 at the American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship in Palm Coast, Florida.
