// HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bearcats took an early 2-0 lead with goals from Donovan (assisted by Borzillo) and Napoletano (Donovan), a lead in which UC would not lose, but came close to several times. After the Hatters pulled one goal back, Gysin (Borzillo) and Mlkvy (unassisted) each scored to make it 4-1. After Stetson's second goal of the game, Sains (Gysin) scored to make it 5-2 before Borzillo (unassisted) scored what would be the first of nine-consecutive goals in which she had a hand. The Hatters, however, scored three in a row to cut the lead to one with 3:26 remaining in the half before Borzillo (unassisted) and Napoletano (Borzillo) scored to make it 8-5 at the break.

After two goals by the hosts made it 8-7, the Bearcats responded with two of their own as Borzillo (Jennie Finotti) and Nause (Borzillo) each scored. After an SU goal made it 10-8, Borzillo (unassisted) scored her first of four in a row that would help see UC to victory. The Hatters made it 11-9 with 16:15 to go before Borzillo scored three in a row (two unassisted and one free-position) to push UC ahead, 14-9, before the hosts scored their final goal at 8:45. From there, Nause scored two in a row and Mlkvy added her second to put the game out of reach and give the Bearcats their 11th victory of the year.

// BORZILLO GOES BIG
For the second time this year, Borzillo tallied 11 points to tie the program's single-game record after she did the same against Kent State in the second contest of the season with an identical showing of seven goals and four assists. The seven goals ties for the second-most in a game at UC (she holds the record at eight) and her four assists tie for ninth, marking the fourth time she has tallied four helpers in a game in 2019. With all he stats from today, she now has 56 goals, 43 assists and 99 points. She is the first UC player to ever score 50+ goals in a season, the first to tally 40+ assists in a year, and adds to her growing lists of firsts in points as she is the only player that had ever record 60, 70, 80 and now 90 points in a season, leaving her one shy of the century mark. Additionally, she scored the game-winner against the Hatters, marking her fourth winner this year, the most in a single season in program history, while also taking over the program record for consecutive games with at least one point recorded to 33 in a row.

// NATIONAL LEADER
Borzillo entered the game with 88 points, which ranked her seventh in the NCAA according to the April 24 statistical update. With her 11 points today, she vaulted up to the #1 position in the NCAA with 99 points, leaving her both one point shy of 100 and one point ahead of the former national leader, Sam Apuzzo (Boston College), who has 98 points on 72 goals and 26 assists. Borzillo is now one of just seven women with 90+ points this season and could see her national lead overtaken later tonight as Kelly Larkin (Navy), who sits third with 96 points) plays at 7 p.m.

// NAUSE'S NETTINGS
Nause found the back of the cage three times on the day to record her ninth hat trick of the season and bring her rookie total to 39 points on 35 goals and four assists. The top scoring freshman in the American, Nause now sits second all-time in UC freshman history for hat tricks in a rookie season behind only Laura Simanski, who recorded 10 in 2009. Nause, who recorded at least one goal in her 11th-consecutive game, ranks fourth in UC freshman history on points and is third in goals behind only Simanski (47 in 2009) and Borzillo (39 in 2017).

// STRONG DEFENSE
The Bearcats caused 11 turnovers on the day and saw the Hatters commit 17 more on their own for 28 miscues in the game, the second-most by a UC opponent this year behind the 31 turnovers on Kent State. Eight different players tallied at least one caused turnover for UC with Adrianna Fess, Alexandra Fess and Amanda Donovan each recording two. Adrianna led the team with six ground balls on the day as well.

// DURSO GETTING WINS
Durso now holds an 11-3 record on the year and now has 19 wins in her career, breaking a tie for the all-time record for goalie wins that she shared with Meg Gulmi (2013-16).
