// HOW IT HAPPENED
Florida opened the game with the first goal before Kylie Nause (unassisted), the top-scoring freshman in the league, scored her 36th of the year to knot things at 1-1. After another UF goal, the Bearcats scored twice in a row as Gysin tallied both goals for a 3-2 UC lead. Gysin scored her first on an assist from Borzillo, her 100th point of the season, with Mlkvy setting up the second goal. From there, however, the Gators would go on the first of two big runs as they scored the next seven in a row to take a 9-3 lead with 18:06 remaining in the first half. After Mlkvy scored her goal at 16:33 remaining, UF went back on another run as it closed the first half with seven more in a row to take a 16-4 lead into halftime before continuing the run with the first five scores of the second half for a 12-goal run. The run was stopped by Borzillo scoring from a free-position chance, but the Gators scored three more after that before Adams got her goal. The Gators added one more goal with 1:20 showing on the clock to bring about the final score.

// LEAGUE RUNNERS-UP
Heading into the season, the league coahes predicted a fifth-place finish for the Bearcats in the inaugural season of AAC play. Not only did the Bearcats outdo those projections, they smashed them as they went 4-1 in conference play and finished as the runners-up to Florida. In fact, the four wins UC collected in AAC play doubled the program's all-time conference wins as UC was limited to four total in its 10 years as a member of the Big East.

// BORZILLO 101
With one goal and one assist, Borzillo became the first player in UC history to record 100 points or more in a season, bringing her total to 101 after today's game. Borzillo, who has scored a program-record 57 goals and added a record 44 assists this year, is currently tied for second in the NCAA through today's game, equaling the total of Sam Apuzzo (Boston College) and sitting three shy of Kelly Larkin (Navy).

// GYSIN BAGS TWO
Gysin finished her day with a team-high two goals with both coming back-to-back in the early going. With UF taking a 2-1 lead at 26:47, Gysin scored her first just 20 seconds later to tie the game for the second time in the early going before scoring one minute later to give UC the lead. Today marked the second time this season Gysin has put the Bearcats ahead in the early going against a nationally ranked for after making it 2-1 at the 22:36 mark at #20 Michigan earlier this year.

// NAUSE SCORES AGAIN
The scoring freshman in the AAC, Nause added to her season tally as she scored one goal and raised her total to 36 on the year. Currently, Nause is not only leading the league, but ranks tied for eighth nationally among freshmen as well. Her goal today as kept her scoring streak rolling as she has now found the back of cage in 12-consecutive games, the longest active streak of any player on the UC roster and tied for the fifth-longest streak in program history.

// BEST SEASON EVER
Despite the regular season coming to a close on a sour note, the 2019 Bearcats still have plenty to smile about as this season will go down as one of the best in program history. At 11-6, the team is five games over .500 after having never finishing a year in that position as last year's 8-9 record was the best in history. The team won a record 11 games overall and nine at home while registering two long win streaks that including eight in a row overall and eight in a row at home. Numerous team and individual records were smashed as well. What makes the season even better is that it is not over as UC will make its postseason debut next week in the AAC Tournament where the Bearcats can continue to add to their historic showing.
